We are Proud to announce in December, 2011

We will celebrate our 34th Anniversary of service to the Community

As members of the Lake Jackson/Mid County Lions, we volunteer our time to humanitarian causes in the area of Prince William County, within the state of Virginia and the world community. By conducting service projects and raising funds, we Lions strive to help those in need, wherever the need exists. The Lions' motto is "We Serve."

The association was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1917 and is the largest service club in the world.  Lions International has grown to 1.43 million members belong to local clubs in most countries in the world. Lions Clubs International is headquartered in Oak Brook Illinois. The international association is governed by a board of directors, elected annually at the International Convention.

In 1925, Helen Keller addressed the Lions at their International Convention, challenging them to become "Knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness." Since that time, service to the blind and visually impaired has become one of the association's most significant activities.

While Lions speak many languages and profess many religious and political beliefs, they all subscribe to common objectives and ethical principles.

The Lake Jackson/Mid County Lions Club was founded in 1977  by  civic minded individuals in the mid county area.  We first called ourselves the Lake Jackson Lions because we met at the restaurant that was located at the Lake Jackson Dam and because most of us came from the surrounding area.  Recently with a high rate of growth in the mid county we have renamed the club to better reflect the area we serve.

The Lake Jackson/Mid County Lions have a small area on the southern side of the intersection of Hoadly and Dumfries Roads. This is where we hold some of our events.  Watch for our coming events sign as you pass by.

We were proud to announce that in December 2009 we celebrated our 32th anniversary of service to the community. We look forward to many more years of following the Lions Motto “We Serve”.
